17th
International Conference of the Society of Neuroscientists of Africa Marrakesh-Morocco April, 17-20, 2025 |
Mining operations, especially in
gold extraction, heavily rely on water, which serves as a primary
medium for transporting and disseminating mining-related pollutants.
Consequently, intensified mining activities in these regions have led
to significant alterations in the composition of surface water, raising
concerns about downstream water quality and potential health risks for
local populations. So, the main objective of this symposium is to
highlight the correlation or causal relationship between the mining
environment and gold mining and the incidence of neurological
pathologies; and then propose natural medicinal solutions as a
promising direction in the management of this cerebral ecotoxicity.
