How to reach Marrakech city center from Marrakech-Menara airport? Shuttle by bus or taxi?

Marrakech-Menara Airport (Code: RAK) is the 2nd largest in Morocco. It is located to the west of the old town of Marrakech (Medina). It is one of the most beautiful airports in the world. It is bright and has beautiful Moroccan interior decoration.

At the arrival

Going through customs can be quite long, especially if you are the last to exit the plane and several flights arrive at the same time. Allow between 45 and 60 minutes to leave the airport, if you order a private transfer. In addition to your passport, you will be asked for your accommodation.

Reach Marrakech from the airport by bus

Marrakech Menara Airport is located near the city center, approximately 9 km southwest of the Old Town of Marrakech (Medina) and 6.6 km from Jemaâ El-Fna Square. Bus No. 19 connects the airport and the city center with a frequency of every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. In 20/25 minutes you will have arrived at the Arset El Bilk stop (Jemaa el Fna square) where you will get off if you are staying in the Medina. The bus is taken 100 meters after leaving the airport, behind the taxi platform. Price: One way costs 30 MAD, round trip 50 MAD.

 If there are at least 2 of you, a taxi can be an interesting option. An airport trip > to Medina (Jemaa el Fna square) costs 70 MAD (i.e. 7 euros) or less, never more (except at night).
